Reference Difference
The control of airspace outside Banjul CTR has been delegated to Dakar FIR.
Operators of flights in The Gambia need to file a flight plan prior to departure across international boundaries for land-ing outside of the CTR.
For traffic operating locally / within the controlled airspace operators are required to "Book Out” by notifying the Air Traffic Services unit :
  1. Aircraft call sign (and registration, if different).
  1. ETD.
  1. Destination and ETA.

Documents accepted in English.
Seventy-two (72) hours notice is required for all non-scheduled international flights, and is subject to approval from the GCAA.
The GCAA reserves the right to recover the expenditure required for reply to mes-sages.
Visas are required for all foreign Non-ECOWAS Nationals.
A charge is usually made for the issue of a visa.
Visas for temporary visitors are normally valid for three months and one entry only.

After entering runway, aircraft should maintain approach frequency (121.300 MHz) unless when unserviceable. The frequency (118.300 MHz) tower may be used whenever approach frequency is faulty.
